many other arts is said to be handed
down to humanity by the Lord Shiva, a
superhuman ruler of a legendary
continent called Kumari kandam. This is
the same 3 eyed god of the Hindus.
However during the time of inception of
Varmakalai he was a ruler of this
continent that stretched from Africa to
Australia and included parts of South
India and was not worshiped as a God
yet, he walked among humans.. Varma Asan (guru) Rajendran Krishnaraj is a current lineage holder of this art his Asan was
Shivalinga Nadar from Nagerkoil, who could trace his varmakalai lineage to Sage Agastiyar.
