PETER MAXWELL

Under the guidance of Benny Tolmeyer and Silvia Silve commenced a competitive career at the age of ten with Lynn Harman. During their career together they became a legendary partnership whose performances fundamentally influenced the development and advancement of competitive dancing; becoming one of the most successful partnerships of all time achieving many records which remain unbroken. During their entire career they were only coached only by; June Mc'Murdo, Benny Tolmeyer & Silvia Silve , Walter Laird, Bill & Bobbie Irvine, Doris Lavelle.
Retiring aged twenty six Peter studied other dance forms in New York City, in order to advance his general knowledge of dance and movement, including Classical Ballet with Vladimir Doukedovsky and "aerial" lift work with John Roudis. During this time he formed a partnership with Vicki Regan and they became a sought after and renowned speciality dance act in NYC.
They were invited to become stars of "The American Dance Machine" and performed world wide on stage with this revered group, including appearances at the "Spoleto Festival," Italy and "Wolf Trap" Washington DC. Peter later directed the company. Peter & Vicki were honoured to appear on the front cover of the "dancers bible" Dance Magazine, of NYC.
Peter created "Peter Maxwell's Ballroom Dance Theatre" which toured the US and internationally with great success for six years, managed by Columbia Artists Management of NYC. The company creating a new genre of Ballroom on stage and receiving glowing reviews from major newspapers including the New York Times and Boston Globe.
Returning to England he established the world famous Semley Studio, London, the most popular studio of its kind in the world, in order to concentrate on teaching competitive dancing.
His success as an internationally renowned expert is internationally acclaimed. He is one of the only teachers/coaches who has ever had direct input with competitors in every category, Ballroom and Latin, Amateur and Professional simultaneously.

I remember this bloke. He was head prefect at my old school in the early 70's, Spencer Park in Wandsworth, I must admit me and my mates thought he was a sickly looking geek then but hes done ok for himself, I guess. Anyone seem him lately?

Never seen Peter Maxwell before.
But remember my instructor used to take Latin from him. He would drive up to NYC in the 70's and 80's. If I not mistaken my latin routines came from this coach. My instructor would break them down for me
and we would practice them for all the local big competitions. My Pro/AM latin routine were my instructor's Professional
latin routines that he used with his professional partner.
Thanks for posting.
