Pretty cool old blues song. Recorded in 1925. Performed by the song writer. Enjoy!

Sorry about the really scratchty record, but I think it is still worthy. Someone played this one a lot.

  • OOh! Been tryin to find this for years! The real original from Art Gillham! Doc Watson used some of these lyrics (house full of kids...), but otherwise I never heard the original lyrics till now! Thanks, this is real History! To whom do we owe the honor (cdbpdx?).

  • Very nice indeed! I only knew the version by the great Jelly Roll Morton.

  • Great rendition by the reported composer (or, at least first widely-known performer) of this famous blues!!!

  • This was recorded as an experimental sample by Western Electric engineers, prior to the official start of Columbia issuing electrically recorded releases.
