No, you have it backwards. Libertarianism originally came from the left and anti-capitalism. You're thinking the hijakced U.S. right-libertarian falsehood.

Face palm that B! LOL! "B" is for bear. Vote LP!
-
Libertarianism Summed Up: "Do you want to work for me? Do you want to buy from me? Then fuck off and die."

@semperFi4ever100 the guy below explained Libertarianism - social liberal, economic conservative
.
-
@Someideasandstuff No, a bit simplified it's like this: The political right wants to give an advantage to big business, the left wants to give an advantage to the lower classes. Libertarians want that no one gets any advantage.

Social Liberal, Fiscal Conservative.

LISTEN, UNDERSTAND, DECIDE. RON PAUL 2012
A vote for Dr. Paul is a vote for yourself. He wants to limit gov intrusiveness in our lives & allow US to make our own choices. Stop politicians & the elites from thinking that they’re so smart that they know how to run our lives better than we do. He is one of the few politicians that will make difficult decisions, he will balance the budget by his 3rd year, while most politicians plan to balance the budget after their term is over
VOTE RON PAUL 2012

If I could face palm, I would.

In a nutshell, a good way to think of libertarianism is being on the right economically and on the left socially.

@ken4ky Regulation is not a black and white issue which is how you are painting it. For example, the EPA just passed a law limiting mercury emissions from power plants. Read up on it
.
This video is a bit bullshit. Libertarians are considered to be on the right in terms of economics due to their views on capitalism

@Someideasandstuff The video is only bullshit if you are naive enough to think that republicans are fiscally responsible.

In Canada we had a "Liberal" who was practically a libertarian (13billion surplus, conservative economic policies, supports rights such as gay marriage).
He was too boring, though, so we went and chose a dumbed of Ronald Reagan with no personality. Now our Liberal party is just another bunch of socialists and our "Conservative" is just a money-blowing so-con. HELP!

@MrRedtubelover I don't know much more about them, other than that they exist, but there is a libertarian party in Canada.
libertarian.ca I would start your search there.
