@blackmetallicgirl haha i was completely "in love" with henry too! i've never read another character quite like him- i think it's a reflection on donna tartt that she was able to create such an astoundingly complex and obscure character and the fact that *SPOILER* henry kills himself completely made sense- i must admit i had a "crush" on camilla aswell and i still think francis would be an awesome best friend

@HUNspike I didn't meet her in person, but rather spoke with her briefly on the phone. She's very pleasant, and very well spoken.

@blackmetallicgirl Mine was Bunny, he was so mean, selfish and autodestructive that made him amazind and detestable at he same time. Julian was great too!!

I love her accent
God, now I have to read "The Secret History" and "The Little Friend" again, because it's her voice I will hear in my head narrating everything. Both novels were translated to Portuguese and were praised by critics here in Brazil.

@VanderleyVivas Good for you, in Hungary 'Little Friend' wasn't even translated. The Secret History was published in the 90s, but it wasn't a success, because the publisher didnt promote it. It's impossible to buy it anywhere sadly, but at least the translation is good. I reckon I will listen to it again in audiobook, but I fear I'll get depressed even more because of the winter break of Richard (here is the same, minuses and big snow...)

I love this reading. Donna's voice is mesmerizing, isn't it? I had the thrill to ask her and Anne Rice a question on NPR years ago. It was heaven...but I digress. THS is one of my absolute faves. I'm rereading it now, which is why I'm here, looking for videos. As for a favorite character...gosh, I don't know. Julian, maybe. I think it's HE that has a morbid longing for the picturesque. Silly, and only for fun, I love Judy Poovey. Such an 80s college girl. Camilla? Francis? I can't decide. :)

@seanlets Yes, it feels so good to listen to her voice. Wish I could meet her once in my life, but that's pretty much impossible since she is basically unknown in Hungary. What is she like in real life? A calm type of person?
