You do understand that Kwan Yin is Avalokitesvara? the female form is based upon both Avalokitesvara and Tara blended together, and that Avalokitesvara was male. Further that Avalokitesvara in female form was used like tibetans to encourage women into buddhism and to distinguish the Buddha from Avalokitesvara (too many men)
