A practical video demonstration on how to use feedly and why. feedly is an RSS reader and from a research point of view it is essential. It's a tool that is useful for keeping up to date, sharing with your network, and bookmarking. All in one place. Here is a video on how to do it.

  • I can't use my browser without checking my feedly :3 Lovely extension.

  • @Somnipherum - ah! you're hooked

  • Nice video. :)

    One question:

In the navigation bar you have listed all your categories like "healt", "social media" etc. how did you do that? I use the extension for Google Chrome and I can't find any options for that.

Thanks in advance for your answer! :)

  • Hi and thanks - you've got a great YouTube channel!

I'm using chrome on a mac - and the way I do it is that every site I add to feedly I put into a category (either one I have created earlier or a new one). you should have the option to do that when you add sites. The other way to do that is to go into 'organise sources' and at the bottom create categories. Then drag and drop your book marks into them. The categories should appear in your navigation panel after that.

    Hope that helps.

  • Thanks for your compliment :)

Yeah, I already categorized all my feeds (I don't have as much subscriptions as you yet :D) but that doesn't help unfortunately. The categories still don't appear in the navigation panel :-\ Could that may be bug?

    Best regards

  • hmm, I've just had another look at the chrome version of feedly. I can't think what it could be - categories may not show up if you don't have anything in them - so that might be it??

Next thing I would try is looking at it in a different browser like firefox and see if that makes a difference
