Great music, good marching but I wonder why they kick their feet out like Can Can dancers when marking time instead of lifting them like everyone else?

GREAT

A truly exceptional performance: the quality of musicianship and timing of the movements is awesome. May you go from strength to strength.

Always a fan of F&D of York Town. Last yr down to one bass drum. Are you guys doing okay recruiting? Love the drumline stuff. Looking forward to seeing you guys at 2011 Drummer's Call.

Hard to say... A few years back they decided to pursue a different course and the membership began to diminish. They still perform regularly in town, but they are a shadow of what they once were.

Three questions- is that the fife and drum dorps from the NPS battlefield park or a private one?
Whats with all the different cockades?
Why is Ticonderoga, who will kick units out that don't meet their 'stringent authenticity requirements', showcasing a unit that looks to be more than half female?

1) Yes and yes. The organization is a private non-profit corporation, but it does perform under contract with the Colonial National Historic Park in Yorktown.
2) The cockades represent rank of the members.
3) I can't speak for the policies of the Fort Ticonderoga staff, nor am I aware that this is their policy.
