  • "tyranism"?

    come on

  • Shut up. I was stressed out.

  • Your going to die, get over it. When you hit 75 years old or so you'll welcome it. We have the wrong view of death in America, if death is tragic then all of life is. The Christian/Muslim/whatever view on life cheapens it.

  • That's the most retarded thing I've heard in a while. Get over yourself.

  • You're assuming your loved ones would HAVE to die! What if they were immortal, too? But anyway, isn't the whole fun of life discovering new things and exploring? If you could do that for eternity, then why not?

  • I think eternal life would be a curse, seeing your love ones pass by while you stay alive is a curse, however if you're apathetic then I guess not. But diff things you like pass by is also one, and if the brain is infinite yes, but if it isn't ant it's just an attic then there'll be no purpose on living on if you cant access it, of course I think it probly will make space by deleting other things.

  • "I" is just just an illusion. A flame is always changing shape, but overall, it's still fire. We're just a little "spark" of that "fire". Are you the same person now as when you were a little kid? No, you're quite different.

  • No, he also said that eternal life would be, "A curse". I disagree for many reasons. First, I would always prefer to exist in some conscious form. It would be infinitely preferable to not existing at all. Second, there really is an infinite amount of things you could experience... And I want see ALL of it!

  • if there's an infinite amount of things to experience, how long would it be before you're no longer you?

  • Well, you're assuming you only have access to a single game. What if you could live as someone else? What if you could chose to have variations on your own life so it was one huge wacky adventure? And like he said, you could always be modified to find pleasure in familiarity. Also, Thunderf00t said that wanting eternal life was "greedy". Being greedy only applies when it's at the expense of others... Which, to be fair, people often are in the name of eternal life.

  • I think you haven't really thought about how there is really an infinite amount of things to experience. Who's to say that even forgetting about something and starting over again wouldn't be preferable to not existing at all?

  • I think you missed Thunderf00t's point entirely. His point wasn't that heaven would be an eternal stretch of nothing, but rather that eternity of anything would get old for a while, and then would never end, and you'd be stuck eternally living through something that you were sick of centuries ago. it's like watching your favorite TV show for all eternity. it will get old, then you'll want to leave. but you can't.
