Chapter 19- I Don't Understand…

Nat- Hello?

Some girl- Who is it?

Nat- It's Nat...Nat Wolff…

Girl- Nat! Is it really you?

Nat- Jessica??

(Jessica jumps up and hugs him.)

Jessica- Oh my gosh...I can't believe it's you!

Nat- Wow...what'r you doing here?

Jessica- I came back from Washington...

Jessica used to live in New York and her and Nat used to be best friends. She moved away to Washington right after they started going out. She moved away two years ago and they havent talked since.

Nat- When did you get here?

Jessica- Last week...

Nat- That's great....how long are you staying here?

Jessica- Well...actually we've moved here permanetly.

Nat- Really? That's really awesome!

Jessica- *Thinking* *It's better now* Well...that's kinda why I was crying.

Nat- You don't want to be here?

Jessica- It's just that...I hate having to start all over again. I was just getting used to Washington.

Nat- Oh...well at least you know people here.

Jessica- Yeah, I guess...and I have you right?

Nat- Of course...*Oh no...everything just got so much more complicated.*

Jessica- What's wrong? You seem sad?

Nat- I need to tell you something.

(Nat tells Jessica everything that happened with Rosalina and Sam.)

Jessica- I don't understand...Will Rosalina keep the baby?

Nat- I don't know.

Jessica- Do you want her to?

Nat- Well I don't want her to get an abortion.

Jessica- Yeah I can understand that...what about adoption?

Nat- I would rather her do that than...*Her keeep it*

Jessica- Her keep it?

Nat- (Laughs) You still know me too well...

Jessica- I haven't forgotten about you...

Nat- I haven't either...

Jessica- Do you ever wonder what would happen if I wouldn't have moved?

Nat- I used to think about that a lot.

Jessica- Yeah, me too.

(Silence)

Jessica- I really wish that I hadn't.

Nat- Everything happens for a reason though.

Jessica- Yeah I know...so you don't know what's going to happen with Sam?

Nat- I have no idea…

Jessica- You loved her?

Nat- (Awkward) well...I thought I did...

Jessica- You don't anymore?

Nat- It's not that...but I guess I just really liked her.

Jessica- What made you think that you loved her?

Nat- I just thought that I knew her and I felt like she knew me...
Jessica- But, what's changed now?

Nat- Well I thought about how I used to feel about you and I realized that it wasn't the same.

Jessica- *Oh my gosh, does that mean he loved me? Does he still love me? No because he just said used to. But maybe he can love me again.* Used to feel about me?


What will Nat say to her? What really happened at Sam's house? Will Rosalina keep the baby or get rid of it? The questions will be answered in Chapter 20.
