The music on this clip is familiar to me. My parents had a recording of Jascha Heifetz playing the lead violin. It's SCOTTISH FANTASY by, I think Bruch. Who is performing this version?
I'm drawn to this clip for another reason. My last name is Wemyss. Nobody here knows it's pronounced "Weemz."

I'm glad you liked it! To me Portnahaven and Port Wemyss are very different places now. The old-timer locals are mostly long gone from my time there in the 60's and early 70's.
Have a look at the videos "People About" and you'll see some more. I'm posting a couple more videos up here tonight and tomorrow.

Thank you so much for sharing this, fascinating to watch! Nice touch at the end (no, I'm not giving it away, watch it to see it).
Interesting to see how little yet how much has changed over 60 years. At one point I spotted the Coastguard watchtower, which to my knowledge is now a holiday cottage. I assume it was still in its original use back in 1948.

Glad you liked it!
The fella who now owns the Coast Guard Station was in touch with me the past week - the property is available for rent and looks very comfortable. I can't help but think what amazing views it would have.
