Sounds very wolf-like. It is mostly the breeds that are more closely related to wolves that howl like that. Huskies, Malamutes, GSDs, Elkhounds, NAIDs, etc. We can learn much about our dogs by studying wolves, especially the latest research by those such as Shaun "Wolfman" Ellis who actually joined a wild pack and lived with them according to their pack heirarchy and testing/dominance/submission rituals.
