Six months after Allied Forces liberated German concentration camps, a military tribunal formed at Nuremberg to prosecute Nazi war criminals. Some of the most dangerous were brought to justice--but not all. Over 4,000 former Nazis went to work for the U.S. government, without the public's knowledge, to help fight the Soviet Union. Reinhard Gehlen, an intelligence officer for Hitler's General Staff, was tapped to head the U.S. intelligence program in West Germany to spy on the Russians. At the same time, former Nazi scientists and engineers were welcomed onto American soil. In 1998, a bill was finally signed into law that mandated declassification of documents concerning recruitment of former Nazis. We dig into the records to see if the ends justified the means and ask how far the U.S. should go to partner with a former enemy to fight another.

Under a fascist CIA black-op which grew out of the OSS I'd grown up with some of the most radically deceptive ludicrous idiotic self-justfying excuses for humanity on the planet & like most little guys I'd had hope things may get better when everyone finally told the truth but it didn't happen (Mussolini sailed a nuke developed at Tunguska into Manhattan 3 weeks before Riosevelt's death) & it also isn't happening now & as for the limited future we face it doesn't look like happening either...

Some people are just too naive, this world isn't just black and white, it's a blend of grey. One can not simply look at one event and draw the conclusion, or else we would all be banging rocks together and living in caves. The world does not run that way.

But Nazi intelligence sucks. The Brits in WWII turned EVERY German spy in the UK into a double agent. That's about as fail as you get as an intelligence agency.
