isn't it maddening?! and it's like programming that we downloaded by osmosis! the media has SO got us hooked!!! is it any wonder we keep looking for a quick fix? and it's easier for us to look to the outside world for "the answer"...because WE can't possibly know what is right for us, LOL! keep me on the true path, carmela....thank you! <3

Very interesting to take note of the visual barrage that assaults the senses. Another interesting note - while we do have some of that in Europe, it's far from what it is in the US. And interestingly enough - since I moved from the US to Switzerland nearly 30 years ago, the one thing I have noticed is how few truly obese people there are here. Europeans are not obsessed with their weight.

I have been obese for decades but now the weight is falling off me.
No special exercise or diet plan. I have switched to whole foods only. If it comes in a packet, box, can or jar, then I don't eat it. I DON'T cut fat off meat, I add salt to my cooking again, and have returned to natural butter (no margarine). I don't watch the clock, I graze instead. I regard fast food and processed food as poison, I have gone back to natural whole food and cooking from scratch.
I feel great!

Your right - the media, magazines, morning talk shows, and reality weight loss shows have only two interests in weight loss. Profit and the space it fills in their show or periodical - online or print. Both very short term interests. If any of these people really were genuinely interested in our health and LONG TERM weight loss, they would cease these ridiculous "tips" and really focus on weight loss WITH well being - instead of IN EXCHANGE for our well being. Good job!

Wow Carmela! I really agree! We need someone who doesn't just say "manage those calories." Its is so much more what your mental state is about what you eat and the physical activities you engage in. I have often thought my weight was more affected by how my exercise and food changed my state of being. I gotta check out your website. You rock!
