  • Does it strike anyone else that Holmes is in a particularly good mood? It can't be the holidays, because, as you've seen in The Cardboard Box, he objects to christmas trees (he decorates his chemistry set instead), and, from what I gather, christmas itself. He has no case and he isn't on morphine or cocaine, so what gives?

Sherlock Holmes in rarely in a good mood without just cause.

  • @maddyreid18 it might have something to do with bipolar disorder, where you have certain mood-swings, just a guess

  • Sleepy Holmes is my favorite Holmes c':

  • Hes so cute all dishevelled and tired, not a morning person in the ep is he? :P

  • @maddyreid18 I don't remember Holmes as being in a permanently bad mood, or anything. He didn't have time for the common dialogue of the era, but he was still a gentleman. He was nice enough. Emphasis on ENOUGH. He did his bit, got bored, and kindly asked that everyone leave him alone unless they had something utterly interesting to say. If they didn't, god help them.

  • the audio transcription by beta is laughingly bad

  • @gelert456 Alternatively, its very simple. This case is about geese. He likes a goose for christmas dinner.

  • This is one of my favorite episodes of the show. Does a good job capturing the trappings of a Victorian era Christmas. I make sure I watch it every year during Christmastime, in addition to viewings with the rest of the episodes during other times of the year.

  • @BlueSora3

And he carried out those little peculiarities of the canon Holmes just the way I imagined them :)

  • I think Jeremy Brett was a marvellous Holmes. He's more the calculating genius he should be, rather than a sap who had a romantic thing for Adler - Im pleased this series stayed faithful to the book! xx
