I heard this speech for the first time while watching Zeitgeist on video. It was a powerful speech touching on the dangers of secrecy in a free republic. When I listen to JFK speak, I recognize that he was aware of the dark side of our government. He was a great man.. not perfect, but great just the same.

The problem with Ron Paul is his ideology would make things even worse. Go ahead and free up the markets and privatize everything....and you think it's bad now.

You're right. Free market's are awful. We need more controls. (eye roll)

This was a US PRESIDENT saying this, he knew something that no other president after him knew and maybe he tried to alert us but was killed too soon. People like me and many others need to stop being dismissed as lunatics and 'conspiracy theorists' because I am fed up of it and I'm tired of being intimidated into a corner by a majority of brain dead patriots who watch Jersey Shore for a pass time and cannot think critically to save their lives.

WikiLeaks should use this insightful speech in its defense. There should be NO secrecy in everyday operations of government.

You are discussing "free markets" on a link to a JFK speech? I mean...come on! lol JFK was not a "free market" guy.

The last recession we went into was because the market was treated as "free". Government regulators were not doing their job and the rich bastards were doing illegal banking and ignored the dangers of false advertisement - weak valued loans and insurances were treated as "AAA" rating when they should not have...just one example.

What a complete garbage speech! The only thing he's saying if you listen to the entire thing is that the press must work with the government in an 'effort to inform the public'. Why doesn't this controlled puppet use his mike to inform the public right there & then? The problem with many truthers is that they need heroes because they can't do their own thinking sheepishly idolize role-models. JFK isn't attacking the illuminati or detailing the existence of any evil power group in the US.

He is referring to the US government bankruptcy of 1933, when the govt was dissolved and became a corporation owned by the international private central bankers. The law of the land was changed to UCC maritime law and all judges, lawyers, govt officials have to take a secret oath that they will never disclose this to the American people. JFK's 50th anniversary this year should be celebrated by bringing this secret to light and restoring the govt as an institution that protects its citizenry.

Ike and then JFK warned us and those generations ignored them.

Humanity is in a sad state when "Gangnam Style" has over 1 billion views and this video of this speech (and other videos of this speech) have a few thousand. The United States of America has become the United States of Corporations whose god is money. "In God we trust" is printed on every dollar for it's the money that is god.

That's the image he wanted to give you, but in reality JFK is the president who lied and manipulated people the most.
