whether he's a good president or not, i can't really tell from 3000 miles away..... he seems to be okay to me. with the UK elections happening in the next couple of weeks, i'm not interested in what racial background my MP/PM has, i'm not interested in their social background and i'm not interested in how they look. i just want them to be a good politician.

i think the problem is too many people these days are more interested in the fact that he's not white (it is important in that he's the first black president but that's all) and that people are too impressed by this fact and, if they get beyond that, are too impressed by the whole stylistic thing (no doubt encouraged by all the popularity shows on tv these days). did any of the people voting for him look beyond this?
