Here is the unknown bus model that has the Detroit Diesel Series 60 engine with the Allison B500R WTEC 6 speed auto transmission. Along with it is the retired Greyhound MCI MC-12 bus that has the Detroit Diesel 6V92TA engine with the Allison HT-740 or HT-747 4 speed auto transmission.

If anyone here knows what's the name of the first bus model you see, then please tell me immediately.

  • Which are the best buses to convert in motor homes.

  • @TCB1468: Probably the MCI coaches or the older GM buses...

  • @baul104 or maybe a prevost

  • @gtasandman: It could be either one...

  • Its too bad the MC12's didnt come with the 8V92. The V6 still sounds awsome, much better than the series 50 or 60. Not to mention as many people say, much more reliable. Dont get me wrong, the I4 series 50 and I6 series 60 are great engines but nothing compares to the old 2 stroke Detroits. I was told "you can rebuild them and rebuild them after a million miles each time, and as long as you do it right, they will run and scream forever". Bring back the old engines!

  • @gsm19911: Absolutely!

  • Nice old school mci. It's hard to start your business with these . People are looking for newer ..

  • @baul104 yes

  • Than You, I am from south Texas and was wondering how far those VTC buses have gone now that Greyhound owns them. I wonder if Greyhound will keep them nice and clean like the guys here in the Valley used to. But anyways, thanks.

  • At Detroit, Michigan.
