Norrington in the first film was an annoying sod but when he apeared in the second movie he blasted straight to the top for me. He looked cooler, acted cooler and was just allround awesome. In the third film when he was back to the wig and the trading co I still loved him.

Perhaps she was just stupid. I don't see any other variants to interpret her decision to marry a man, who chose the betrayal and lies as his way while there was Norrington, who tried to live as a men of honour.
