Combat

Combat the series, depicted the lives of one platoon of soldiers fighting their way across Europe in World War II. The 5 year show was realistic, even to the point of using actual war footage in some episodes. The main stars were Vic Morrow & Rick Jason. The series ran from 1962 to 1967 (the last season in colour) Here are 3 samples of some of the series in colour.

@joshweiss01 Sorry to disagree, but Saunders carried extra magazines inside his jacket, along with hand grenades (must have popped a few seams!), whereas most NCOs would have hung them both on their pistol belts (there were special snap pouches made for Thompson and M3 magazines).

I had an M1944 vintage field jacket like the one Lt. Hanley wears in this episode, but I would have killed back then for a Parson's jacket like the other squad members wore (and I still want at least two)!

@StasisDesigns These were stock MGM sound effects used in many previous TV shows and features. Man From UNCLE used them as well.

@GeorgeLaird Did you notice how Saunders had virtually unlimited .45 rounds in those magazines. Never showed him running out or even pulling out another mag after ejecting an empty one. Talk about extending capacity!
