Episode 7 : Complication 3/3

After the concert, a lot of people flooded the backstage. No sign of Demi in the crowd. I couldn't take my time to search for her because of all the commotion.

Then all of a sudden I saw Selena from a distance. I quickly raced to her.

"Selena!" I hugged her.

"Hi, Joe." she pulled away. "Awesome show! You're amazing."

"Thank you." I grinned.

She smiled very sweetly.

"Nick was dying to see you." I went on. Teasing, this time. "Have you seen him already?"

I saw her face turned red. "Yeah."--looking down now, hiding her face--"I've already talked with him"

I laughed. Hysterically.

"Hey stop it." she demanded. Still looking down. Still blushing, I thought.

I nodded and smiled sheepishly.

"You're so Joe." her voice came with a giggle. "You'll have your day!"

I gave her a look which made her laugh.

"Where's Demi?" I wondered, changing the topic.

For a second, her happy grin faded across her face as if she's just been informed that someone died. She turned her head to look at the far corner of the hall anxiously. It was then that I followed her gaze and saw Demi. She's talking with the long-haired guy. More like arguing. I can't see clearly, a lot of people had been pacing around blocking the view. I groaned.

The next thing I knew Selena left and appeared right beside her. Worried was written all over her face when she grabbed Demi's shoulders--seemed like she's manipulating Demi from doing an obvious act--while Demi's arguing with the guy. What is going on? This shouldn't be seen by others. It will cause another stinking rumor.

I tried to step forward but the guy with the shoulder-length hair, wearing a dark blue Shirt and leather pants, standing closely beside Demi facing her, his right hand impermeably grasping her left arm, suddenly glared at me with his feirce eyes. His face was scowling at me as his whole body burned in fury. I noticed his grasp at demi's arm tightened. I felt my body stiffened as soon as Selena took away his hand quickly off of Demi when she cried in pain.

The scene had changed everyone's mood so much that I was left confused. I tried to absorb every details being showed, processed it through my dizzy head, and tried to understand whatever it was.

The guy didn't took away his glare off me. From the corner of my eyes, I saw Demi, standing behind Selena now, away from the guy, took notice and followed his gaze to find me, standing here. For a second, my whole body froze. I faltered to a stop, unable to move. Agony was crystal clear through her soft brown eyes.

I couldn't find the strength to walk forward and comfort her. I stood here, frozen. bewildered and pained. I couldn't stand what im staring at. Then I saw Selena shouted something at the guy which made him scowl at her while Demi burried her face on Selena's shoulder. They didn't seem to exaggerate their actions for all the people to notice. Im sure Selena wouldn't like to see a picture of this scene all over the newspapers and magazines.

I took a deep breath before stepping forward when Kevin grabbed my shoulder. "Joe we gotta go. Common!"

"No. There's something wrong." I insisted then took my first step.

"No. Joe let's go!" He grabbed my hands and dragged me away.

The last thing I saw, Dallas came and dragged Selena and Demi away from the guy. What the hell was that? And who was that guy? I shivered. Now I know how coward I am as a person. I hadn't took my move, even just to be there, to be her bestfriend. Im a horrible person! I hissed to myself.

Sorry this one is so horrible! i know some of you were eager to see Demi break up with Alex already and tell joe everything, same with Joe. but I promise, we'll get to that point. We need some drama first. so i hope its not that bad.

I'll make it up to you next episode.
