@thefinalfrontier1701 There's plenty of indication throughout the TV series and this movie that the Galaxy Class ships were really just poorly designed all around.

... But of course, letting the LEAST qualified person on board helm the million ton starship had NOTHING to do with it crashing. (How embarrassing when the BLIND GUY has piloted the ship, and you crash 2 minutes after touching the controls...)
