First Double Stack on Donner, Intermodal IOAOG-19. BA Productions

IOAOG-19 was the first doublestack UP intermodal.
This is the first double stack train ever to cross the Sierras on November 19, 2009. BA Productions was there to capture the train in action as it left Roseville and ascended up to Donner Pass through many of the tunnels that were raised by Union Pacific over the Summer. Phase 1 is completed. Phase 2 and three on the way.

looks like they cut a notch on the side of the tunnels to make them fit- or let a couple of double stacks be put in the middle of a mty coal train and let them grind a notch in the tunnels.

@meccaturbo Actually they did. They always ran Double Stack trains "double stacked". They stopped though when the containers got too large.

In your description it say that "This is the first double stack train ever to cross the Sierras" The Southern Pacific ran double stacks over Donner many years ago, But stopped because the the height on the trailers became high. Now the UP can run these double stacks because of the work they have done on the tunnels. Good video though!!
