This was erected in dedication of all men and women of the United States military. For all that served in wars and conflicts of the past. It was followed with a parade and dedication ceremony. I was overwhelmed with kindness this day! After 42 years, I recieved a real Welcome Home! Many thanks to all that put in their time and money for this. Most of all, thanks to Swords Masonary for their efforts.

  • Thanks for your service paratropper82. Welcome Home!

  • I have lived here since 83. Came up out of Baltimore, and I don't miss it. Love being in the country. Great to raise up the children, better air and surroundings. Now my kids and grandkids can go there and see my brick in the walk! After all these years,a lot of Vietnam vets are getting their Welcome.I am glad to see how todays military are made welcome.

  • I was so proud and happy! I now got the respect I had missed for so many years.

  • Brooks that is the nicest tribute to Veterans that I have seen, you must be very proud of your community for their efforts and recognzing all whom have served. It is a reminder to all generations that America didn't just happen !

  • Outstanding..is all I can say for now because my EYES are full of tears. went with the 503rd to Okinawa in june 1960 then in 1963 the 503rd became the 173rd. Went to jump school at fort bragg jan 1960

  • Outstanding Brooks! Is this your hometown? A couple years ago I went and visited my towns veteran memorial. I was surprised to learn that we lost 33 men to VN from our small town of 15000 population during Vietnam. I knew of 3 men one was my neighbor. Alabama B Co. 2/1 196th LIB

  • That's amazing! How does it feel to be a part of that?
