Pachmann studied with Vera Kologrivoff Rubio, who was one of Chopin's last assistants, from about 1878 to 1880 and was known for his delicacy of touch. Many stories about his eccentricities have been passed down through the years. None the less, he could do some beautiful things when he was in the mood. Here he plays the 2nd movement from Chopin's Sonata No.3 in B minor Op. 58. Recorded in London 1916
I am speechless!-this is a great recording,very natural playing.He was in the mood,no doubt!

this kind of practice and dedication is lost today. we excuse our physical inabilities by relying on ideas for improvement, while they are just excuses of their own. the music documented here is a representation of what these notes were meant to deliver.
