@Metin2antharos DBAN will wipe the entire hard drive, including the OS. It will also be virtually impossible to retrieve it once you've wiped it. So, if you want the buyer to just find a clean OS with none of your personal files and documents, your best bet is to track down a Windows installation disc. Do not use DBAN if you want to keep the operating system intact.

@Metin2antharos No, Eraser will delete only data on the hard drive that is stored on the file system. For wiping your hard drive with your operating system on, you need a program that you run at boot-up called Darik's Boot and Nuke (DBAN). Please see my video that I made about DBAN, which I have tagged as a video response.

BTW, you set masks to either exclude or include specific files you want deleted on top of the default(include), or ones(exclude) you specifically want the program to ignore.

Hey Peter... Thank you for the props under the video. I need to grab the latest. Rated up! Drop by my channel and say hello sometime. :p
Hi mate awesome video
I was just wondering if I use this program for my external hard disk
Will it delete any current data on the drive cos I'm worried to loose them

@MegaAkad Thanks mate,
Eraser will only delete what you ask it to. It won't delete any files that you don't specifically tell it to. That said, I'd always keep back-ups of files that you don't want to lose.

Ah, right. Makes sense. I understand the concept of masks from when I did databases at college, but wasn't sure how to use them in Eraser. And also I mention you in the video. Yeah, I'll drop by your channel sometime as well.
