Bloody Cartoons 5-5

Innocent white paper, until black ink is applied. On the 30th of September 2005 twelve cartoons of the prophet Muhammed are published in the Danish national newspaper Jyllands-Posten. A provocation that was, according to the documentary maker, just intended to show that you must be able to satirize religious figures in a modern democracy. Many people watched in disbelief when Danish flags and embassies were suddenly set on fire all over the world. More than 150 people were killed. How did this happen to Denmark? Even an Egyptian pop singer started ridiculing Denmark, and threatened us all to burn in hell. This documentary explores the question.

To be honest, I was a bit disappointed by this documentary. It is not very objective, and gives a very one-sided view of the Muslim world. We all know that there are millions of intolerant Muslims who demand that these cartoonists be killed for what they did. But the documentary fails to show representatives of the liberal Muslim world, such as Mohammad Khatani or Khaled Diab, who were actually supportive of freedom of speech in this case

@SamiPeaceful what? who would be dumb enough to leave islam? hmmm execution for being dumb? listen it is not must law to kill ex muslims, it was revealed at the time when people were playing game of accepting islam in the morning and leaving islam in the evening to put confusion in the new muslim's mind.
