Lets look at how these systems work. The first stage is the same as with a 2 stage cyclonic system. The significant difference is once finer particles enter the second stage via the shroud, there is a cluster of smaller, significantly faster cyclones that can generate centrifugal forces of up to 150,000G to extract and separate microscopic particles to be collected in the bin while the even finer particles are trapped by the pre and post motor filters.

Because of the high efficiency of the multi-cyclonic action to remove dust particles from the air-flow, these systems also have the added benefit of providing "NSL" or "No Loss of Suction" operation. Of course this is providing the user is emptying the dust collection cup prior to or at the maximum fill level. This information will be found in both the operators manual but even easily found on the container itself.
