pike's very boney fish. there's a row of small Y-shaped bones all along the flank which are a pain to pull out and irritating to eat. I've sen a video on how to cut them out of the fillet, but never tried it. Personally, I'm a catch-and-release fan when it comes to pike.
If you do want to eat one, a some chefs run the meat through a blender to blitz the bones, then make balls for fish soups etc.
