The USC Senior Gift '10 program follows a longstanding tradition at USC in which each graduating class makes a unique contribution to their university.

Our Senior Gift will be used to spearhead the construction of a solar powered water heating system housed on the roof of the Lyon Center to heat water for the McDonald Center Swim Stadium Pool. Currently, the Swim Pool is heated using boilers that burn natural gas. As part of a USC Sustainability Initiative, the Solar Energy System will help fight climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The funds raised by the Class of 2010 will serve as the seed money for this project, to which USC will contribute over $250,000 to finalize the remaining cost of its construction. Design will begin in summer 2010 followed immediately by construction. Our class will be formally recognized with a plaque detailing the significance of the project in the entryway to the Lyon Center.

If you're a member of the Class of 2010, we cannot make our Senior Gift goal without you! The number of seniors that participate is a huge deal for our class—we need you to help us set a new Senior Class record!

When you send in a gift to the Solar Thermal Energy System Initiative, you will be counted as a participant in the 2010 Senior Gift.

No one else can do your part! When 86% of seniors from participating schools give a gift of ANY SIZE, USC alumni will match our participation with a contribution to our Senior Gift.
