This is the first episode so please comment! This was a fun flight from the Vancouver Inner Harbour seaplane base to Bedwell Harbour seaplane base on South Prender Island. The aircraft is a Harbour Air DHC-2 Radial Beaver on Floats with 8 seats. As you can see from the approach there was a weird large amount traffic coming in from both the air and water which caused me to go-around. Stay tuned for episode two!

  • Hey Ethan where did you get the AI for that area

  • @RedDevilSquadron Most of them came from the freeware CYYJ by Don Grovestine (compatible with orbx pnw blue) and some others compiled with other freeware flightplans and aircraft

  • What a pro! Who taught you to fly? Any formal training?

  • @santaana36 Thanks, my grandpa taught me the basics and I have learned the rest my self. I have had two informal flight lessons at Boeing Field!

  • Dang, computer specs? And hey, is this Beaver freeware? If so, where can I get it?

  • @Palexb14 I am getting a new computer soon to replace this 6 year old bitch haha. Anyway specs: Intel Core2 Quad CPU, 4 gb of RAM (but stupid 32 bit W7 so I can only use 3). Not sure about the graphics or video card sorry but they are about 2 years old. My new one will wil probally have a NiVida graphics card and 8 gigs of RAM on 64 bit :) The Beavery is Payware, published by Aerosoft. You can BUY it at Simmarket or Aerosoft.

  • Very cool video man!

If you like to make it as real as it gets remember that when you are taxiing in the water (this applies to the DH Beaver, that I know of) you want to pull the yoke towards you to keep the front of the floats in a nice upward angle so they don't pivot under a wave and flip the plane upside down.

Also, the pilot keeps his door open during taxi, until right before take off, in case something goes wrong and you need an evacuation route. =)

  • Whats the airport code for this.

  • @MercuryOneOne Thanks!! I think having two grandparents who are pilots, over 7 years of FS experience and a passion for flight just adds up :)

  • yeah, real awesome video! great job! how did you learn so much about flying?
