The day after Irene, Ocean Drive in Belmar, as well as Spring Lake and other towns was closed. No one was allowed east of Ocean Drive...meaning the beach. There was sand and seaweed all over the streets and even on the side streets. At some points, the boardwalk was ripped up, We were not able to get to that area. Too many police. Sorry about the mic noise...need to get an off-camera mic.

That is seriously wrong to deny surfers access to hurricane surf. The cops have nothing better to do than harass these guys?

Here's what I don't understand: Why does surfing continue to be a crime in New Jersey? Between the ridiculous rules and the state (and the Army Corp of Engineers) destroying dozens of surf breaks, it seems that New Jersey has declared war on surfing.

all I got to say is I see 4 surfers with enough balls to stand up for thier right to surf. And about 100 people that wished they had the nerve to do it. Everyone should have just gone in the water and surfed. There is no way they would arrest everyone.
