I wonder... Is it possible to play this using multiphonics? Just a thought.

This is really fast for a orchestral tempo. It's kind of hard to hear the 8th notes in the 2nd part this fast. But hey, you did way better than I could have done at that tempo...or any tempo haha.

I don't play the French horn, but I hear it's very difficult to play well. You did good here!

You did well. Thanks.

hahaha I like the eyebrow raise at the end XD

This excerpt is really too fast for any orchestras I've performed in or heard perform this. Also, did you speed up the recording a bit? Best wishes... :)

@DjediaMusic
Thanks for the tip.
I played it fast to be showy. I've performed this work before.
and I haven't edited it at all.

Thanks for the response. I was just wondering if horn players discuss this question at all. My recollection is that on the Cleveland recording with Szell they take my approach at least to some degree. I have to check again on Klemperer, Abbado, etc.
I was not criticizing in any way; you play very well. Just interested in what people think.
Best wishes.

One more thing; In the 7th ms of the Trio the oboes and strings are marked p. Presumably the horns should start the crescendo softly and then build.
Shouldn't the beginning of the Trio be piano also?

I understand where you're coming from.
But I really see this passage as a hunting horn call.
Also, being an audition excerpt, I see it as sort of a [tinkling] contest. [PG]
I'll show my romanticism and musicality on another excerpt, but this one I reserve for manliness.
If an audition committee requests a particular interpretation, I gladly perform it to their request
