  • I am using bamboo too, and will be using it alongside the riverbed, to protect the high plot of land where my house is...i want to do a video on this subject soon...it is very good for protecting higher grownds from possible deterioration and being dissolved by overflowing brooks...

  • The bamboo is just starting to take off now, they suggested that it would take about 12months to really get established but it does seem to be growing well already. We just had first frost here today, so it will be interesting to see how it copes over the coming weeks, supposed to be frost tollerent which is interesting as I always thought bamboo to be tropical?

  • I have a large grove of Phyllostachys nigra nearby which I have been taking divisions off and putting into pots for my garden. Over the past few weeks the main grove has been shooting as it is spring here in NSW. After some research i found that the shoots are very edible so I decided to try it. After boiling and eating 1 shoot I became sick and could hardly stand up and shortness of breath. Must have been undercooked and still contained amounts of cyanide. I fully recovered after a good sleep

  • bamboo is grass, you ass!

  • Bamboo is a grass not tree.... =P

  • hi.. i just want to LEARN HOW TO PLANT BAMBOO BY USING THE BAMBOO STICKS.. wILL IT GROW MY FRIEND?

  • found UR vid while researching what if any bamboo I could try in my location here in the U.S. Looks a bit diicey for it too survive the Winter. Thought I'd be OK with replanting some every year, bit the sources for the plant I'm find would make that an expensive preposition. I'd love to live in a location where I could a grove of bamboo of about an acre in size. BTW may understanding is that bamboo is a grass, not a tree. Like UR vid though...

  • update please

  • our lands and seasons are similar...I hope i have success

with it too...once it gets established, it begins to shoot up...but for a long time it grows small fliage close to the ground....until the roots really take hold...

I do use it....i clean it and will make fences this summer during my vacation...with the bamboo i cut to transplant the roots...bamboo is very resilient...hoefully we will be too mate!!..
