  • Awesome lookin' shelter! The area outside of it definately looks promising,,, I'm sure there's some killers waitin to be dug! I'm curious about the green flint as well???

  • @neralich Yep. I want to go back soon, because the area of flint runs for around 150 feet along the branch, and we barely put a dent in it. The dirt isn't too bad, but lots of roots! The greenish material is Reeds Spring chert, which comes in quite a few colors.

  • Great vid Creek... That shelter looked like it would've produced better than that..

Better luck next time though... Thanx,, B.C.

  • @BakersCreek Hi B.C. I'm sure the cave did produce well for someone! For us, however, it looks like it's going to have to be the outside area. We may try to get a tractor down in there, to help with clearing some of the brush. Multiple test holes show that there is flint debitage through a pretty large area, all along the usually dry creek branch. The water source is a seep spring, a few hundred feet away from the cave. Roots are the biggest obstacle!

  • Thats what you call "an under water bridge" bud!!Lol...That one with the ears woulda been nice to see,and what is that green flint? Is it from here or brought in?

That birdie tip is SICK!!RealHeadHunter finds some sweet points his way doesn't he?!!Cool gift, nice piece of flint....Later man...good luck out there!

  • @MrRickjitsu HI Rick! Thanks for watching and commenting! The greenish chert is Reeds Spring, which is probably the most common, good quality material, south of Springfield, down into NW AR. Comes in other colors too. I might do a vid with some images of Reeds Spriong and some other area materials. Later bud!

  • aww sweet dalton base.wheres theres one, there allways more.& serrated birdie tip is sick.

  • looks like somebody really worked that place over. See you soon.---Tim

  • Yes, the advantage of a big truck: you just drive through the creek. I'd have to get out of my small car, carry it to the other side, get back in and go on :o)

... but hey I am into ultralight equipment, so what!

  • @gtrpkr1 There very well might be. Where there's one, there oughta be more, and we need to go back there. We barely scratched the surface, of the area outside. We poked test holes, and the flint extends around 50 yards, along the branch.

  • @MrBasecampproduction Might be Rommel, driving the Panzer =) Gonna hafta go back down to that place.

  • @TheArchaeojohn I believe you're right. It's a nice quality material, that is found a lot, in SW Mo., south of Springfield, and down into NW AR. Named for Reeds Spring, in Stone Co.. Greens, brown/tan, gray/blue, even dark red hues and combinations of green tan is common. I might do a quick vid, showing more xamples, and maybe a few of our other area materials. Thanks for watching and commenting =)

  • Hey Creekdalton, I believe that some of that material you are finding is Reed Springs chert. It tends to come in hues of green, grey, and blue. Neat finds!
