An electric guitar version of one of my first songs. Words written by John Wells for his wife, Rheta, who passed away in 2009.
This version adds a harmonica to the final verse (thanks to a Gibson Learn and Master Guitar forum member suggestion) and the vocals were rerecorded with a condenser mic instead of a dynamic mic to pick up more of the vocal spectrum.
Rheta's Song

There are eighty-five acres of prime bottom land
With a stream and an ancient oak tree.
There's a little white cot and a small garden plot,
And there's someone who's precious to me.
Her eyes of clear blue flash a twinkle or two
And shines full of love for me,
All of the while, her broad sunny smile
Makes living my life just for thee.
Silver has chased all the brown from her hair,
And I'm just as silvery as she.
Throughout the years with all of her fears,
She's shown why she's precious to me.
If ever she passes and leaves me alone,
I shall weep eternally
If God's so inclined, in Heaven I'll find
That saint who's precious to me.
