Well I happen to think this is wonderful :)
I know how hard it is to get a good response from a two year old sometimes, because I have one :)
Seems like an awesome horse, extremely well behaved. Keep up the good work.

very very cool mom. he's amazing. as are you all!!!

Fugly special, admits putting people up many times and not having a halter or rope even on. Back-good boy-back-good boy-...is backing back or good boy? At end even you are pulling and pulling higher up on the neck and the horse just isn`t responding and guess what you say good boy! Idiots.

Aww...he is just cute as a button! And SUCH a good boy!!

Crystal, final thought:
We are a rescue facility and work with abused and mishandled horses every single day. We fix other's training messes and simple mistakes made when someone just doesn't realize what they are doing. Our training approaches work for us, and for client horses, every day.
Do we ever make mistakes of our own? You betcha. Does that make me an idiot? In your world, perhaps. In mine, it makes me human.
I remain proud of the video and most of all, of the horse.

Crystal, Lets take your post in pieces...
Not only admits, but am proud to say that we set riders on him with no pressure on him whatsoever -- he can walk forward, step sideways, slide away. Entirely his own choice, with ZERO pressure. Mike is holding the rider, and the rider's hand is on Mike's shoulder, to stay with HIM should the horse decide to move away. And guess what? they almost NEVER do. Not if they've had the right ground handling to start with. They trust us, stay, & do fantastic.

As far as 'good boy', praise is a form of reward, and it is a reward he knows and respects. He is backing upon request, and praised for it as he takes every step, as he is asked to move back one step at a time.

If he doesn't respond to pressure from the neck rope at the base, then I slid the rope up to where a lead would normally be when he is unhaltered; as soon as he gave to the pressure, I released and praised. Simple as that. from a video taken above the round pen, it would likely be hard for u to see the reaction he DID give and why he was praised.
