Possibly the most notorious volcanic explosion in modern era, Krakatau still reminds many people of the cataclismic event that reverberated around the world at the end of August 1883.
Today Anak (child) Krakatau, Anak is about 800 meters above the water line of the Sunda Strait, West of Java, and growing over 6 meters per year.
Is it preparing for another major pyrotechnic show?

  • Didn't go up to crater?

  • @sabretoothed69 No we did not because tourists/visitors are not allowed to go beyond about half way up the cone. The guide, that one has to have, will ensure the above is implemented.

  • awesome video

  • Thanks for the video. Its very good to see the earth's powerful ability to rejuvenate itself along with its living conditions. Too much environmental damage is being done in favor of economic interests.

  • Thanks Vittorio. I found the video very informative and well produced. I particularly enjoyed your choice of music. Keep up the good work.
