Did you use clear water to give him his final rinse? I use only the kitchen sink sprayer and yet Rexie still seems itchy and I don't even use shampoo - I use the waterless spray and then rinse it thoroughly. I use a small amount of diluted tear free puppy shampoo on his feet and face and rinse it carefully. Soap residue causes all kinds of itching problems for dogs. Many owners think their dogs have fleas.
