planted tank
fish:1x18'' arowana,2x10'' fire eels,1x14'' fire eel,2x9'' oscars
light:560w t5 ho12hrs a day
ferts:1 tsp mono potassium phosphate,5 tsp potassium nitrate,2tsp magnesium sulphate and 2 tsp of trace elements all progressivly into tank in a week a little over the top but it works,
filters/flow,1200lph canester filter with aditional 1200 lph pump in line to up the pressure in the 5 foot spray bar, assisting the in line ''up atomizer'' (co2 injection 3bps).two u4 internal filters in the tank all filters emptyed and cleaned every two weeks.
50% water change every week,
650litre tank, black gravel as substrate

  • @tosendprashan,the arowana i had for 6 years with every thing the same as it is now just different plants,hes always been lively until about a month b4 he died,iy just went on hunger strike which some arowana's do and then deteriorated since,co2 is on for 10hrs a day 8hrs light a day,i now two very small aro,s both doing great and eating crab sticks and arowana pellets, they have both grown in the 3 weeks i have owned them,thanks for your concern

  • plants are great but fishes seem so dull. may b co2 makes them upset

  • @tosendprashan ,andrew the arowana which iv had for 6 years died from an unknown illness,that was his last few swims :O( . i tried a 4 days with no co2 weeks before he died with no difference in moods from him or any of the fish,i only use 3 bubbles per second of co2 with 650l of water,which is a tiny amount compaired to some of the other fish/plant lovers who nuke there tanks with far more,thankyou for the comment

  • @psxdever i have had most of these fish since they were tiny,my local fish store keeps twice as many fish in there tanks,many thanks for your opinion.

    i saw in a fish forum someone has said his tank became a arowna killer as 5 arowanas died one after another. are you supplying co2 at night? if so i think it cud b a prb.
