@30NIGHTCRAWLER30 Because no one will remember a band like Coldplay in 100 years. Sorry, but I consider it a sin to mention Coldplay and Radiohead in the same sentence. Listen to OK Computer (which came out in 1997) and then listen to Coldplay's Parachutes (which came out in '99). It's blatantly obvious that Coldplay is directly influenced by Radiohead. In short, Radiohead are the innovators, Coldplay are the imitators.

@Padmanakin Furthermore, Coldplay makes music for their fans and publicity, which is called being a sellout....i meant Rhianna! Are you kidding me?! Radiohead makes music for the soul purpose of making breathtaking music....not what people ask for, not for money, not for fame, not for the critics.

@Padmanakin I've heard them all, I've also heard all of Radiohead's (except Pablo Honey), and I know what you're saying. Coldplay's music is more approachable, digestible, any shmuck can pick it up and enjoy. I think Coldplay is pretty good. Radiohead though....their music goes the deepest. To say Coldplay is more soulful is a sin. There's enough "happy" music out there, we need talented music. Radiohead puts more soul into every song than most put into their singles and with the most creativity

@Illadelphism i love radiohead and have been a fan for a long time. but coldplay has said time and time again that radiohead is their inspiration. in short, coldplay is radiohead jr. and they've admitted it multiple times. just enjoy the music.

@PMACfourtyone Have you really heard two Coldplay albums in your life ? What's similar between Parachutes and Viva la Vida ? A Rush of Blood and Mylo Xyloto ? Yeah, Radiohead have been far ahead everybody, we know that, Chris Martin knows that, and he has been clever enough to make his own path, believe it or not. Somehow, Radiohead can't do things as simply happy and successfully soulful as Coldplay. They are two ways to see the world and I love them both.

Radiohead has the most diverse music, they explore areas of music that Coldplay cannot even comprehend, there's really no arguing with that. Furthermore, Thom Yorke is an absolute modern genius, Chris Martin...average I'd say

People should stop mentioning Coldplay in videos or posts about Radiohead. People are obviously going to be furious. Look, undoubtedly, Radiohead is way better than Coldplay. And it's true, Coldplay's early work was clearly influenced by Radiohead. They actually improved when they stopped channeling Radiohead. But anyway, Coldplay's songs are good to listen to, and the members aren't terrible at what they do, so stop mentioning Coldplay, for their own sake.
