Cool. It's got a clock, radio, lcd display. Too bad there was no room for the CB part.

@allenward69 I want just a basic mobile VHF radio, that I can talk on for 50 miles "as the crows fly". I see that unblocked Yaseu FT-2900 100 WATT , unblocked 1(whatever) - 174 Mhz is available on ebay for 240 USD with shipping.

@M28443 hello my friend stock this rig only does the legal limit of 4-5 watts, if you tune them up gives you like 15-20 watts, add the mosfet final and re align it usually gets them closer too 40-50 watts depending on each radio:) it just like any other cobra 29 insides are the same except the front face is all new processor design:) hope that helped and glad you like the videos i try too keep them rolling i have a few more too do soon

I meant to ask what NUMBERS does the stock final show ?? LOL
Thanks for demonstrating that & GREAT to see a NEW POST & review from you ROADSTAR !
I am going with VHF and HAM radio, I hate all the CB rules and stuff with the wattage, and I am getting my HAM license. Thank you for your comment back. Any ideas on The Yaesu FT-2900R model? For cons, I see that it gets HOT at 75 watts and it can receive on a board range, but on TX it is narrower on the band. Thank you.

@edwardwills hello my friend I hear ya on the rules haha no one ever obeys CB rules been that way since the start of cb radio my friend:) as soon as a radio is peaked and tune its illegal cb is not as popular as it once was so no one really cares any more its a dieing industry now a days unless you drive truck or you love the radio and free communications, as for the yaesu I personally dont like them I like the Icom like the Icom 706 great radio

@allenward69 Any particular reason you do not like the Yaesu ?

@edwardwills just my personal opinion, I don't like the display and there too quite of radios unless you drop 2000.00 on nice set up an i com you can get for around 700-1000 and will play flawless there is so many ham radios too choose from depends on what your looking too do and with what radio

Can you add an amplifer to this radio and it would send at that power even if the radio is set to 5 watt legal limit? What I am asking is if you add an amp , would it use that amp and transmit at a that wattage?
edwardwills 4 months ago
@edwardwills if you add an amp it would do what the amp puts out if you hooked too a stock radio only doing the 5 watts you would not hardly be even turning on a amp with 5 watts of swing radio has too be set up recommend before running a amp anyways, some can do from 100-2000 watts depending on what your looking too get into
talk too you later my friend
