@Shanethefilmmaker Charging by pedaling is unefficient. You'd lose more energy than you gained, as there is no 100% efficient energy conversion.
There is, however, a rechargable brake - controller which reverses the polarity of the motor to send back current to the battery to charge it, it isn't much though as Force=Mass * Acceleration and the mass is low of a bicycle.Then the Work (Force X displacement* would be low and then Power (Work over Time) would also be low.
@staver76 I know cycling in general is a better alternative but many people get more enthusiastic on exercise when they have something to shoot for.

It is possible but the thing is u'd just lose more energy than its worth.

how does the bike work I understand you can charge it by plugging it in but is it possible to charge the battery by pedaling it?
