Dancers should be shown if full view not just the feet or the from the waist up.

The director made it possible for us to enjoy these moments of genius by NOT MOVING in for closeups during the dance. Both Gene and Mr. Astaire insisted on having both dancers in full frame. The idiots at Dancing With the Stars think they can improve on the Astaire/Kelly school and ruin every dance by cutting to closeups at least 5-8 times in a 90 second dance. Guess what Idiots: we KNOW what they look like! We've seen them all for months in interviews, in articles and on magazine covers.
