Been a Neil Young fan since the Buffalo Springfield days. Josh really isn't my thing, but I don't think he did anything sacrilegious here. If you are going to put on a "tribute" program that by necessity requires other artists to reinterpret the songs of another in their own style, then you have to be prepared for them to go in different directions. I've heard a lot worse covers done in my 55 years, and you can take that to the bank.

The only way this could be better, IMHO, is with fewer instruments. A guitar and minimal percussion, and that voice . . . . *sigh*

Josh is JOSH!! He is NOT Neil Young, and so he sings like an ANGEL! THIS my friends is PERFECTION! Oh, I hate to see where people have said it was done over the top.. This IS THE TOP! It just does not get any better than this! How I wish that Josh KNEW what his music does for other's! The first song you hear him sing and you are hooked! He took that song, and made it a REAL song!

Beautiful! This is a tribute concert, not the Neil Young impersonation show. When they invited Josh Groban to preform they expected him to sound like.....Josh Groban! It would have been ridiculous for him to not sound so fantastic because that is how he sings! If you want to hear Neil Young, put on his CD. Whether you like this style of music or not you would have to be a fool not to recognize such an amazing voice and talent. I am sure as a musician Mr. Young was impressed and flattered!

Josh tweeted today that he "totally over sang" this song. I guess he would know best, but it sounds pretty good to me.

@GBev2K I saw that tweet and it sounds very good to me, too :) I liked that version Josh posted on his tweet, sang with Neil Young himself, but LOVE his solo!
Plus, this song harvest moon is beautiful! :)
