Well I have seen your E-type on youtube and I understand that you are focussed on that one. I would have done the same I believe.
Yes, I like the sound of my Sp too, but keep in mind that it has not the original exhaust-system.I had to weld it a few times so the end of it is near.I hope I can duplicate this sound when a replacement becomes neccesary.
Further, I am very fond off my DKW , and have lots off fun driving it.
maybe a replica v6 will be made some day, but that will be very expensive I suppose . If I even want to race a DKW anyway , I would rather use a monza or even a F12 with are much lighter
I think it is possible to place a wartburgengine. But it will not make much difference, I prefer the DKW engine because of its lower weight (thinner casting).
The 1000sp,with 55hp,has sufficient power.I have tried to test the top speed and I did not reached it, I stopped at 130 km/hour. Thats more than enouht for a 50 year old car.
If I ever would replace the original engine for a more powerful one , it would be a muller-andernach v-6 engine. Well we must have something to dream about.......
I had hoped to get my 1000 SP on the raod this year, but was focused on the Jag..maybe next year! Miss that engine sound!
