Red-tailed Hawk attack, use tools, swoop, eat

Video shows a red-tailed hawk swooping after and eating prey.

The hawk is first perched on a light pole. It then swoops after prey and eats something (is difficult to see in the grass). It then flies to a tree and watches the road (it uses the road as a tool).

After a car goes by and kills something the hawk flies down and eats it. It then flies away. When it flew away, it actually flew right past me - quite close.

The video also shows the hawk flying in slow motion and at night during the sunset and some flying nighthawks.

**The red tailed hawk, Buteo jamaicensis, is a large powerful bird. It can weigh around 2-4 lbs. and has almost a six-foot wingspan. They have a sharp, strong, powerful beak and curved talons. They tear prey apart with their beaks.

wish i could teach them to not go for road kill. i see them all the time smashed on highway i-69 by my home in indiana. we have tons of them here. they are beautiful. also there is a eagle/raptor reserve marsh. they get tons of eagles that get smacked by semi's on the road during migration. broken wings and legs ,can't fly. they rehab them if they can and set them free. but its just sad. i would think after seeing traffic all the time they would not land there they are so intelligent n beautiful

Red tailed hawks also own the call that you hear in most movies for bald eagles. Eagles have a shitty call!

Those are gulls at the end of the video, not nighthawks. The very last bird at the end is a Red-tailed.
