  • (nzoz) I claim to know a bit about music and especially Aussie stuff. I LOVE the Guru (from my hometown of Perth - Western Australia for all our overseas veiwers!!), yet the Title of "Le Hoodoo Guru's" for the first number they filmed at UWA has me wondering. Is that their post Hoodoo Guru's Title??

  • @MusicMaster1974 *shrugs* beats me

  • @nzoz1982 - lol!! YOU! are the Master nzoz. BTW. I have been meaning to ask? How to we subscribe to ALL you channels at once insteat of subscribing to them all?? (Also.....I was MusicMaster74 until this whole google sign-over B/S etc and ten thousand passwords I coudn't remember).

  • @MusicMaster1974 Mate, I honestly don't know... I think the only way you can subscribe to each of them individually... I really don't know how you can mass subscribe in a matter of second.... Thanx for the compliments!

I wish I was in early eighties Australia, period. The assert the country still has its charms and quirks, everywhere else bar Sydney.

  • Wow, they look like they're having fun, almost to much fun. I mean that in a good kinda "Aww...man I wish I was in that video" way.

  • @barberb8q - thanks for that! A Perth boy, born and bred, Hoodoo's where second on my list to that of the Enz of favourites (go figure!). In all the years I have watched this video and listened to the song, I never noticed that there was no bass player! Maybe I was sidetracked by the heavy use of drums. Legendary, never the less! LOVE Dave Faulkner!! (More so on "Spicks and Specks" when he couldn't pick out one of his own tunes! lmao.)

  • @MusicMaster1974 the 'le' hoodoo gurus was the original line-up and original name. both were short lived. three guitars, drums, no bass. dave faulkner, rod radalj and kimble rendell on guitars and james baker on drums. cheers

  • great song from an iconic aussie band. as an aussie living in NZ its always good to hear this stuff and in my view Hoodoos just about shit on any other bands of thier genre

  • i heard this song in the mid 80's while watching a surf movie ,living by the beach in San Diego.every time i hear it i am taking back to a time when things were easy and care free.

  • @and101a - most definately, you are right. I was only 8 at the time and used to tune into the lastest and greatest on an old transitor radio (now I am sounding old!), as well as raiding my parents' LP's and singles. That was the foundation of my music "addiction". It was until a lot later that I was able to group songs to artist and many more years later that I started to learn about these groups. By then most the great facts would have slipped under the radar! :)

  • @MusicMaster1974 You claim to know a bit about Australian music, and you are from Perth, and yet you didn't know that they were called 'Le Hoodoo Gurus' before becoming the 'Hoodoo Gurus'?! Stonage Romeos was the first album I ever bought. Everyone knew they had dropped the 'Le.' Maybe with 1974 in your user name, you were just a year or two too young to catch that bit... Anyway the grooves are probably worn out on my vinyl by now. The second album could never live up to the first....

  • i was named after this song!

  • It was 1983 when I first saw Le hoodoos at Adrians night club in northbridge. They were electric, although they changed musicians, they still kept their individual style and 60's voodoo rock.I saw them in Perth 2 years ago at Metro's and they were still rockin.
