Gameplay from Nemo playing on the Memotech MTX512. Retro Gaming.

This is not a review, walkthrough, playthrough, or demonstration of my playing ability.
It's more a case of me speaking my thoughts while playing the games, many for the first time, and most for the first time in a very long time... so it's all a little spontaneous and random.
Predictably, as I never practice before recording, I usually play very badly.

Given that I am playing many of these games for the first time, and everything I say is completely off the cuff, you probably shouldn't take what I say overly seriously. The opinions that I express are my feelings at the time, but it's entirely possible that they would be different if I were to take the time to get to grips with the game.

However, given that these videos are intended to show that "first time experience", I believe they have some validity or merit.

  • One other thing, there is a way to predict when the electric eels are going to zap, but I forget it now.

  • @andyzkey After reading the instructions, they change colour just before they zap. I didn't know that at the time, coz I never read the instructions before doing these vids :)

  • These are going up pretty late from your time zone. Don't you usually upload somewhere around the morning in your time? Is that to do with youtubes processing time or are you just uploading them later than usual? I've heard people talking about how the processing times were shit lately.

  • @Zoogle88 It's not youtube, it's just me being very busy and struggling to find the time to upload.

  • @nitturo, Interestingly enough, back in the days of MTX, I recall porting a couple of MTX games (not including this one though) to MSX and visiting a company apparently interested in selling games for MSX. This was a straightforward port as the graphics chip was the same, and the sound similar. Nothing ever came of this - I'm not sure why.

  • Yes, this is based on Matrix, but with a graphics overhaul.

  • I'll never understand games that are so hard you can't make it off the first few levels. "I love the place, it's full of grannies." Line of the night!

  • looks like a sting ray and a crab on the beach

  • This looks pretty much like "Matrix" for the C64. They just ripped the program and changed some things.

Even the "Got You!"-line is in there after you get killed. Interesting... :D

Linking isn't possible anymore, damn! You have to google "Matrix C64" and click the first video.

  • That thing that fires out electric bolts seems kinda cheap to me as you say in the video, if your in the wrong place at the wrong time your dead, if they didn't add that in maybe this game would be fun? but cool vid Steve once again thanks.

  • Are you sure this wasnt a typo and the game was really called: Paper Airplane the game. Rated R for Recyclable.

  • can someone convert this game to msx1? :)
