In December 2008, my fascination with the Great War took me to Ypres, Belgium - a town situated on the line that was known as the Western Front during the war years of 1914-1918. While shooting pictures and footage with my old camera it suddenly dawned on me that it might be an interesting project to put together a short video accompanied with a little self-penned music. Here's the result.

  • Mint video.went there last year.loved it

  • right after the gas the 13th battalion was surrounded and sgt john henry thompson died covering there retreat. He is now burried at pocapelle's cemetary lying with his friends. He died at the cross roads near Ypres itself.

  • I went on the battlefields trip... essex farm, hill 642, ypres tynne cot etc. I must say my highlights were the menin gate ceremony and tynne cot, but of course it was sad
